Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE Technology

This week we received the latest 4G LTE broadband device from Verizon Wireless, the Pantech UML290. Simply put, amazing! We have been testing this device on an Apple MacBook Pro laptop and have been achieving speeds both up and down between 12mbps and 15mbps. Our previous Verizon 3G device was the USB720 and were only getting about 1.5mbps tops. The 4G LTE service can easily reach 10 times the speeds of 3G. The Pantech 4G device can also run at 3G speeds if 4G is not available at the time and automatically switches over. It can also switch down to 2G (1xRTT) speeds as well. The device has two external antenna connections, one for each service (3G/4G) to improve the signal strength. Verizon has many cities up and running at 4G speeds so check to see if you are lucky enough to take advantage of it.
