Cadco Systems is proud to announce that we are now an authorized channel partner, reseller, and system integrator for Axis Communications. Axis is the world’s leading expert in network video. Axis is known for its print servers and today one of the leading manufacturers of network cameras. According to its annual report 2007, it has sold over 1,000,000 network cameras, thus claiming to be the world leader in that market, and also ranking third in the world in the security cameras category, which includes analog as well as network cameras.
Axis has manufactured network cameras since 1996, having sold more than 1,000,000 since that time. Their first model, the Axis 200, boasted a web interface as its main attraction, which has been built into Axis's whole range of cameras ever since. Today the company's portfolio of network cameras consist of models for indoor and outdoor surveillance, megapixel and HDTV network cameras, and the latest being thermal network cameras. Axis continue to lead the market in their range of network cameras, which they claim is increasing by 40% annually.
In September 2008, Axis Communications along with Sony Corp. and Bosch Security Systems announced that they will cooperate to create a global open forum for the development of a standard network interface for network video products. The forum is introduced as ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum).
